Le futur de l'ICOMOS: les objectifs et le financement
L'ICOMOS doit être une organisation efficace, respectée pour sa compétence par les autorités publiques et les associations privées en charge du patrimoine culturel.
L'ICOMOS doit avec courage intervenir dans les problèmes et les conflits internationaux concernant le patrimoine culturel. L'ICOMOS doit tout spécialement apporter une aide professionnelle et financière à la protection du patrimoine culturel des pays en voie de développement et des pays en crise ravagés par la guerre.
L'ICOMOS doit, par une collaboration pluridisciplinaire, contribuer à mettre l'accent sur la relation entre le patrimoine naturel et le patrimoine culturel.
Une tâche importante pour l'ICOMOS sera de coordonner la coopération entre les professionnels et les amateurs pour assurer une meilleure documentation et la préservation d'un patrimoine culturel et naturel encore inconnu.
ICOMOS doit promouvoir la protection du Patrimoine mondial pour les générations futures. Les évaluations des Comités Nationaux, fondées sur une expertise professionnelle la plus large possible, et des comités spéciaux, seront une base pour l'ICOMOS et son travail sur le patrimoine mondial.
L'ICOMOS doit veiller à assurer une meilleure protection du patrimoine culturel et naturel en danger dans les régions de l'arctique et de l'antarctique.
L'ICOMOS doit organiser, sur une plus grande échelle, son travail sous forme de projets. Cela ouvrirait de plus larges possibilités de coopération financière, par exemple avec les organisations gouvernementales et les ONG. Les Comités Nationaux doivent cependant continuer à verser leurs cotisations et leurs aides en proportion de leurs possibilités. Ceci est la condition essentielle pour assurer la globalité de l'ICOMOS .
Vision of the future for ICOMOS: its achievement and financing
ICOMOS shall be an effective organisation, which is respected by private and public owners and managers of cultural heritage.
ICOMOS shall fearlessly address present and future international problems and conflicts concerning cultural heritage. Weaker-positioned countries and those affected by crisis and armed conflicts shall be one of ICOMOS ' priorities and receive professional and financial support for documentation and protection of cultural heritage.
ICOMOS shall work across professional boundaries to focus on the connection between natural and cultural heritage.
The increase of skilled knowledge amongst cultural heritage experts, laymen and other professional disciplines is an important task for ICOMOS. It is especially important to train laymen for the documentation and primary protection of the huge amounts of unknown cultural and natural heritage objects.
ICOMOS shall foster the protection of World Heritage for future generations. National Committees' evaluations, based on the widest professional expertise and special committees, shall be a basis for ICOMOS and its work for World Heritage.
ICOMOS should work to better protect the natural and cultural heritage in the arctic and antarctic areas as they represent a truly international heritage.
ICOMOS shall to a greater extent organise tasks in the form of projects. In this way it would be easier to find co-operation partners and external support, for example in the governmental and international aid organisations and NGOs. Subscriptions and support should still be given and claimed from the National Committees according to their capabilities. This is a precondition for increasing the globality of ICOMOS. .
